Golfing Otters Headed to Championships

CSUMB Men's Golf Looking to Win the National Division II Championships

John Jackson, business administration graduate student, is not only going to help the Otter Golf team but he has another goal, to remain the individual champion of the tournament. Jackson was the second student from Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB) to earn the honor, with an eight-under par 208 score.

The Otter Men's golf team is playing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship match today at 7:30 a.m. and tomorrow, April 19, in Paso Robles, Ca. The team is currently placed 12th overall and hope to improve their placement at the tournament. There to defend their title as CCAA Men's Golf Champions against their rivals Cal State Stanislaus.

The tournament is being held at Hunter Ranch Golf Course. The course is a par-72 and is 6,741 yards. In the past three tournaments the otters have come out on top and hope to continue their winning streak.
